Beta, don't worry too much. Many children are like this they understand daily things but struggle with school concepts. With patience and regular practice at home, she will improve. Here are simple home remedies and tips that Indian parents commonly use:
Daily Routine Tips:
Fixed study time: Sit with her every day at the same time (even 30-45 minutes is enough). No TV or phone nearby.
Start with easy topics: Build confidence first, then move to difficult ones.
Explain like a story: Don't just read the book. Use examples from daily life. Like fractions — "roti ko 4 hisso mein baantna" or money for maths.
Use visuals: Draw pictures, use coloured pens, or show YouTube videos (short ones) for concepts. NCERT explanations in simple language work well.
Fun Learning Ideas:
Teach by doing: For Science, do small experiments at home (like mixing colours or growing moong dal). For EVS, take her to market and explain things.
Make flashcards: Write questions on one side, answers on other. Play quiz game with her — give small rewards like chocolate or extra play time.
Read aloud & explain: Let her read one paragraph, then ask her to explain in her own words. This improves understanding a lot.
Revision trick: Revise the same topic 3-4 times in a week. "Jo cheez baar-baar padho, woh yaad rehti hai."
Health & Mind Tips:
Give her badam + milk at night (soak 4-5 almonds). Many parents say it helps concentration.
Ensure she plays outside for 1 hour daily — fresh air improves brain power.
Plenty of sleep (at least 9-10 hours) and no heavy food before study.
Praise her efforts, not just marks. Say "bahut achha try kiya" this boosts confidence.
Important: If after 1-2 months of regular effort she is still struggling a lot, please show her to a child counsellor or educational psychologist once. Sometimes it's a mild learning difficulty that needs proper guidance.
Maa-Baap ka saath sabse bada remedy hai. Stay calm and positive with her. She will catch up slowly. You are doing good by asking help. Keep going!
